Call for artists for ARTS UNBOUND
Urban Arts Platform is looking for street performers, new-media artists, arts facilitators, dancers and musicians to take part in ARTS UNBOUND, a multidisciplinary arts festival, 28 &29 April, The Ansteys Building in Johannesburg inner-city.
Urban Arts Platform aims to create a platform for artists where they will have the opportunity to showcase their work, and to engage with other artists in workshops and feedback sessions together with industry professionals. From our inner-city home, The Ansteys Building, ARTS UNBOUND will make the arts more accessible to the inner-city community and make the inner city more accessible to suburbanites.
Street Performers – We need street performers to be part of our Kerk Street market performance that will entice inner-city audiences into the Ansteys Building for other ARTS UNBOUND events. The parade is planned for Sat morn 28 April. This is something Kerk Street market goers have never seen before.
New-Media Artists – New media artists have the opportunity to showcase their films, animations, installations. We plan to have a night screening under the stars on the fourth floor balcony of the Ansteys Building on Sat 28 April where the beautiful façade of the Ansteys will become your screen.
Arts Facilitators – On Sunday morning 29 April, we have open and free workshops for young artists so that they might learn more about their particular art form. If you are interested in facilitating, we would love to provide you with eager and passionate participants.
Dancers and Musicians – On Sunday 29 April, together with a lunchtime braai on the balcony of the 4th floor of the Ansteys Building, here the inner-city becomes your stage. We are expecting audiences of over 200 people.  Wow this crowd while you imbibe the sights and sounds of the inner-city. 15 minutes is the maximum performance time for dance and 20 minutes for music.
If you are interested in participating in ARTS UNBOUND, please contact Urban Arts Platform before the Wednesday 4 April on UrbanArtsPlatformJHB@gmail.com with:
